After thinking about whether to jump into aff/ppc business for a long time now, I have decided to get my feet wet and start with this industry. I read the affiliate newbie guide which was recommended by http://www.ppc.bz (I don’t know who recommended them though). I am actually pretty skeptic and don’t generally believe what is written on a website so easily but the ppc.bz guy seems to be genuine in his messages.

So I am just going to update this post with how I am doing with Affiliate Marketing.

What I will be working on in Year 2010

I have been running a very small start up based in vizag (Vishakapatnam) and we mainly dabble into web development. It has been growing steadily but still not as fast I want it to be. There are also some other few projects which I am interested to pursue but I am not able to due to Lack of Time and also due to absence of a companion who can take the headache out of running day-to-day company affairs. Frankly I don’t like wasting my time on mundane stuff like bidding on projects on freelancing sites or asking my team for the project status. I think I can delegate that stuff to one of my team member and I can start concentrating on purely doing stuff which will directly impact the company growth (Though bidding on projects is essential to get projects but it eats lot of my time just on the bidding phase. Moreover I generally prefer doing projects on Rentacoder & Odesk but I still bid on other sites just to increase our exposure. I want to minimize my time on bidding on projects and rather do some constructive things.)

As my dream of creating adsense niches has been shattered , I have to figure out another way to generate money through online businesses. So I will be concentrating on Affiliate Marketing and most probably I will go ahead with creating Amazon & Ebay niches. Apart from it I would also concentrate on developing my other virtual real estate empire which may not give any returns in the short-term but which can be really big in long term. I am listing few of my ideas on which I will be working on in coming months in 2010.

A site about anything related to Money and its various avatars like credit cards,debit cards,savings accounts,loans etc.

As it becomes more and more easy to run something using wordpress and its themes/plugins combo, it is quite natural for us to keep track of things possible in wordpress as is is our most preferred CMS.

3) www.opengarage.in

My small effort to increase the numbers of idiots in this world.

4) www.miniprojects.in

A natural extension to the earlier site. Kinda showcase for the opengarage team and also to attract would be idiots by luring them through the promise of mini/main projects.

An Open Source Company

I have been a honest guy most of my life. I do have my own share of dishonesty but they are quite few and small. As such I have always faced many problems because of being a honest guy. Now as I run a small startup, I have a dilemma that should we start becoming more aggressive which in process may make my “Honesty is the Best Policy” to take a backseat. For the time being I think we can get off with being honest. But many times I worry if I can always continue to run the company with the same honesty and zeal. I am not sure about the answer. But many times I dream of running a company which is very open,transparent and honest in whatever things we do. Kind of “An Open Source Company”. I mean is it possible to run a company where every information about it is available in public. Every expenses, every income, every mistakes, every idea, in short EVERYTHING in public eyes. I am not sure if it will be possible to run/create a company like that. But I can always dream. I hope something similar is already running somewhere.

Money Making Blueprint for 2010

Few days back I kind of suffered a blow to my online money making journey. I would not like to discuss too much about it but I think it was kind of a wakeup call. And I think it came at the right time. I had just started making around $100 pm in recurring advertisement income and december month avg. was around $4.3 per day. But I thank God for the event because had I been earning more, it would have been more painful to bear the loss. I had started the house cleaning so that the damage is minimised but luckily I had literally tasted the blood. I have come to realize that there is really a good chance to make money online. Till a year back I was quite skeptic of all the bloggers who used to tell that it is quite easy to make money online because I thought that if it is that easy then everybody would be doing it. I was proven wrong on atleast 1 account ie it is really possible to make good money by online businesses though it is not that quite easy. But once you have setup the things in place and the traffic is consistent then you can see that is is quite easy to make money. So it is really quite easy to make money online but first you have to work hard to setup everything properly. I just tried 1 way of making money online ie advertisement but there are quite a few out there. As I know that this things really work, I am going to concentrate more on building the stuff. So this year I am planning to get the following things done. It is just my way to keeping tracks of the things to do.

1) 50 adsense sites making around $50 per month each. So at the end of year I should be having $2500 per month income through my adsense niche sites.

2) 50 Ebay niche sites. I don’t know the potential of these so I will just assume that they are going to earn around $10 each. So it should be around $500 through Ebay EPN income.

3) Try my hands on PPC sometime later down the road.

Now I will be following TKA methods for making money online. As I feel they are the most honest and ethical internet marketers around and I have seen that the methods do work. But to help others I would be putting up my own research and results on this blog so that others can also learn if they want to. I wouldn’t be revealing any of my niches/keywords but I would be giving hints like how many searches are there for a term and how much competition is there. That will help a lot for people to fine-tune their own site building process.

The Movie 3 Idiots and My Life

I watched the movie 3 Idiots Recently. In more than 1 way , I had been like Rancho, though I never had the guts to do what he is capable of doing. I mean all the mischief he got to pull-off. I did my computer engineering because I was interested in computers from class 7th onwards. I never cared for reading just for the sake of passing exams but for the joy of it. And it used to happen that many times I would read books meant for higher classes just for the joy of it. I wish more people can understand that Life in itself is very fulfilling. We need not live it for somebody else. I particular remember 1 incident from the movie which has happened in real time to me. I think it happened in 2nd semester. We used to have a lecturer “Venkatesan” who would come to the class and would just start reading from a book and expected us to write in our notebooks. Now I never liked having notes. I always felt that having book is enough and I always wrote the answers in my own words. So on that day, as he was dictating the notes and as usual I wasn’t writing it in my notebook. So he became furious and asked me why I am not writing in my Notebook. I told him that the stuff he was telling is already available in the book and there is no point in writing it again in notebook as I already have the book with me ( I always used to purchase the books and never relied on library to fulfill my coursework). And he asked me a question from earlier class and I replied the answer. The answer wasn’t exactly the same as what was written in the book but the gist was same. He said that the answer is wrong but I insisted that it is correct. He asked me to get out of the class. I obliged him and went to library and got another book which almost agreed with my answer. When I showed it to him, the expression on his face was priceless. I think I had always been a very simple student doing almost what the teacher asked, but from that day onwards, my rebelliousness started with the system. Till 12th I didn’t had any problem reading through routine school stuff but during college I started to hate it when apart from computer related subjects I had to read through many other subjects. In retrospective I don’t think it was a bad thing because learning about other related things just expands your mind but at that time I was just thinking that I am supposed to be a computer engineer and I need not waste my time on learning about *induction motors* or *tensile strength*.

Target $20k per month – Revising the Aim a little

It seems some people have a notion that people who have truckloads of money has got the Right to be right. Rest of the people who don’t have enough money or earn enough money are not worth even talking to/about. Moreover according to them, the only worthwhile stuff to do on earth is to make money, by hook or by crook. It doesn’t matter to them how the money is earned and they don’t bother to think that anything else apart from earning money may also be a worthwhile way to live life. For them , Musicians,Painters or anybody else who is more busy pursuing his interests are just wasting their time if they don’t run after money. I for one , for the time being, is sitting on the side where I pursue my interests without bothering much about the money factor. But if I say at this stage that money isn’t the most important thing in life, it wouldn’t be completely truth since I don’t know exactly what it means to have truckloads of money. So I am shifting my gear for the time being and have made an aim to have some good chunks of money so that I can feel what it really means to be sitting on pile of money. I have revised my goal of reaching $20k in pm income in few years to 1 year. Yeah, $20k pm in a single year. As I have no idea how I will be reaching my goal though, I will try to follow a person (Ben) who is making something around $2-3k pm. Ben started with make money online field after reading from Griz’s Blog and I will be following Ben to reach my own goal. So starting from Independence Day, I am going to work towards making $20k in a month a reality. I wish that someone who is very closer to me can also be a part of this goal, but I think that that special one has to wait for some time. Atleast until I reach $2k pm range.

Wasting Time on TV Shows

Lately I have been watching TV for much longer periods than what I generally do. The New Reality shows like Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao and Sach Ka Saamna are the ones which I was watching regularly. Apart from it I also started watching Bhaskar Bharti. But I think they are just wasting my time and I should better stop watching TV and get on working on my aim of having an online income of $5k as soon as possible. Earlier I wasn’t so sure about reaching that figure but seeing that guys in the TKA are reaching around $1k-$2k levels in few months , I think I can reach $5 in an year for surely. So I need to stop wasting time on TV Shows and better concentrate on doing some real work. Once I reach that income level, I can definitely start wasting my time again on stuff which I like/love to do ( Though watching TV is not very much on my future ToDo list).

On a side note , I have finally decided to start with running a placement consultancy firm also ( Apart from running a website development firm and Justdial Franchisee). But it won’t be a full-fledged Placement agency. The idea is just to utilize my Justdial Marketing Team. As my marketing guys are already visiting the business concerns in Vizag, we would definitely like to solve 1 more problem point for our customers ( Paid Clients of Justdial as well as who got their websites designed by us). In fact when I started with Marketing for Justdial , more people were interested in getting staff for their office than becoming a paid JD client and I always resisted the temptation to work on the placements. But I think Placements can be a good Marketing Point for us since it will help us to penetrate the Job Market as well as the student community. I will be discussing more about how I want to spread awareness about all the 3 businesses ( JD,Web Development & Placements) by utilising a single team.
